OP 50 Training/Orientation Runs for 2010 Race
Two training/orientation runs
for the 2010 OP 50 are scheduled.
Both runs will be self
supported. Joe Dana and Lynda Hendricks
will be at the start and give a description of the route for the day along with
maps. We will have fabulous refreshments
at the end!
It is important to note that
runners will be on their own once leaving the start. Runners must pay attention at the briefing
before the start. It is imperative that
everyone carry and use the provided maps.
All runners will be required to check in before and after the run.
We plan to mark only at the
most critical intersections using blue and white flagging. Do not depend on markings; use your maps and
the information provided at the briefings to stay on course.
Anyone interested in doing
either or both runs must register with Lynda at least a week ahead of the
scheduled run. Contact her at ultrarunnerlynda@yahoo.com Detailed instructions on how to get to the
beginning of each run will be e-mailed to each registered runner.
Run 1. 09 January 2010 9 AM
We will meet at the 7/29 mile
aid station on FS62. The route will
follow the OP course from the 7
mile point making the loop back to the same point which
is the 29 mile
point. That will be the 22 mile first loop.
Run 2.
23 January 2010
9AM
We will meet at Kentucky
Camp. The route will follow the first 3 miles to aid station 3/33
then continue on from the 33
mile point following the OP course the 17 miles back to Kentucky
Camp. That will be the first 3 and last 17 miles of the course a 20 mile loop.
Thanks and we hope you can
join us for a fun day of running part of the beautiful OP
50 Mile
