Course Description: 50 mile loop course on forest service roads and trails through the southeastern part of the Santa Rita Mountains (part of the Arizona Trail). Elevation at Start/Finish is 5142 and ranges between 4031 and 5847 with an average grade of 6%. Limit: 15 Hour Overall & 7 hour limit at Box Canyon.

Online registration for 2009 will Open on September 29 th at 7:00 AM Arizona time at active.com. Entry limited to first 150 runners (No entry transfers or refunds). Note: 2008 Old Pueblo filled in less than four hours.

Awards will be presented to the 1st place female finisher and 1st place male finisher. Each of these winners will receive a special buckle. All finishers will receive a finisher's Buckle.

Directions to Kentucky Camp (Start and Finish): To get to Kentucky Camp from Tucson, take Interstate 10 east to Exit 281 (Highway 83, Sonoita). From Exit 281, follow State Route 83 approximately 20 miles to the Gardner Canyon Road and turn right (west).

From the Gardner Canyon Road, go 0.7 miles to first intersection and turn right on Forest Service Road 163 following the signs to Kentucky Camp. Stay on FS road 163 all the way to Kentucky Camp. When you get to Kentucky Camp, parking is at the gate. Do not drive through the gate. Walk through the gate and down the hill to Kentucky camp, about ¼ mile.

Due to areas large number of winter & birding visitors, lodging reservations should be secured early!

You may camp alongside of FR 163 within the national forest or other primitive camping is also allowed in other areas of the national forest.
